Your life is Wonderful… and it’s Precious.

Beautiful friends,

We must always allow the word of God to have the say in how we live our lives here on earth if we want to live the abundant life. His word trumps everything. His word shapes our identity. His word instructs our lives. His word gives us wisdom for how we are to live. We are who He says we are. Every thought that we think must be filtered through God’s word and if it doesn’t line up then we must let it go. It’s must be His word and not our circumstances that we allow to speak to us if we want wholeness and the beautiful, abundant life found in Jesus.

What does the word say about me? Who does He say that I am?

What does the bible say about being an excellent wife? I want to line my life up with that.

What does the bible say about parenting? That’s the way I want to parent my children.

What does the bible say about building a business? That’s the way I want to build & increase.

What does the bible say about how I should think & talk?

About my health?

About my relationships?

What is God’s perspective on the situation? I want that perspective.

As I was reading in Proverbs 5 a few things stuck out to me that helped shape my perspective on my life and I wanted to share them here. I believe this is a perspective that God wants us to have.

Proverbs 5:1-14 The Message (MSG)

5 1-2 Dear friend, pay close attention to this, my wisdom;

listen very closely to the way I see it.

Then you’ll acquire a taste for good sense;

what I tell you will keep you out of trouble.

3-6 The lips of a seductive woman are oh so sweet,

her soft words are oh so smooth.

But it won’t be long before she’s gravel in your mouth,

a pain in your gut, a wound in your heart.

She’s dancing down the primrose path to Death;

she’s headed straight for Hell and taking you with her.

She hasn’t a clue about Real Life,

    about who she is or where she’s going.

7-14 So, my friend, listen closely;

don’t treat my words casually.

Keep your distance from such a woman;

absolutely stay out of her neighborhood.

You don’t want to squander your wonderful life,

    to waste your precious life among the hardhearted.

Why should you allow strangers to take advantage of you?

Why be exploited by those who care nothing for you?

You don’t want to end your life full of regrets,

nothing but sin and bones,

Saying, “Oh, why didn’t I do what they told me?

Why did I reject a disciplined life?

Why didn’t I listen to my mentors,

or take my teachers seriously?

My life is ruined!

I haven’t one blessed thing to show for my life!”

He says that our lives are wonderful and that our lives are precious.

Sometimes we may not feel like our lives are wonderful or precious but remember, we must allow His word to define our lives, not our feelings or old ways of thinking that are not truth. The truth is our lives are wonderful. The truth is our lives are precious. Think for a moment about all the elements of your life – this season that you are in… it may be a challenging season but God says our life is wonderful and that it is precious. You are wonderful and you are precious. I looked up these words to dig a little deeper and here is what I discovered.

Wonderful: Admirable, very good, excellent, splendid, astonishing, exciting, full of wonder, extremely fine, grand, marvelous, extraordinary, fantastic, highly unusual, remarkable, beautiful, enjoyable, out of this world, tip-top bodacious, amazing, awesome, unheard of, inspiring, jaw-dropping, unbelievable, glorious!

Precious: High cost/worth, valuable (precious jewels), cherished, highly esteemed (precious moments with a new baby), dearest, beloved, darling, feeling fond affection for, treasured, wanted, loved, rare, choice, prized, exquisite, invaluable, priceless, favorite, delicate, sweet, sweetheart, true love.

These words define who He says we are! We are remarkable, excellent, inspiring, beautiful, His beloved, and aren’t you glad He gets to define who we really are?! If we happen to think anything contrary to who He says we are let’s let it go and live life from who we really are – wonderful and precious.

We must allow His words to sink deep into our hearts, take root and grow. We need to water it and tend to it (strengthen it) everyday. This is who we are. And we live from the inside out, not from the outside in.

We are beautiful therefore we live beautiful lives.

We are holy therefore we live holy lives.

We are loved therefore we love.

We are inspiring therefore we live inspiring lives.

We don’t do these things to try to become these things –

No, we already are these things therefore that is the fruit of our lives.

It’s so important we know who we truly are! A few verses before (vrs 6) it talks about a woman who didn’t know who she was therefore she didn’t know where she was going (or what she was doing).

Whatever we believe on the inside will be the fruit of our lives. Dear friends, are you like me where I want His truth to define every area of my life? Let’s become relentless in our study of His word and in spending time with Him. We become like those we spend a lot of time with and I want to be a whole lot like our loving and kind Jesus. He has the power to change us from the inside out and He lovingly & gently does when we invite Him too.

So permission to go ahead and be great. To go ahead and be awesome, because it’s who you are! Go ahead and be inspiring & no need to apologize about it! You are remarkable, you are incredible! Your life is Uhhh-mazing!!! Permission to ENJOY your life! Permission to go ahead and be the person you see when you close your eyes. Permission to walk out those dreams in your heart!! He put them there!

Is their any areas in your lives where you’ve believed something contrary to who God says you are that you need to let go of? Are you going to take these words Wonderful & Precious and their meanings and allow them to define you? How are you going to do this? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. XO

All my love,

Angie
